First shot which you don't expect from title

I have chosen to do some research on Niggas in Paris music video by jay z and kanye west because i like the song , and it is not something i would usually pick. I also think it a good video and is intresting and catchy to listen and watch. I think it also appeals to a specific audience .however i do not usually like this music but the song and lyrics i thought was catchy and good entertaining .The first song starts with this shot which is a mid shot and sets the scene however you don't expect this with the start to the music , it is set in the past and the music is very modern and doesnt relate.

Eiffel tower , not typically how we imagine it 

This shot is a low angled shot of the eiffel tower this is the setting and shows the power of the eiffel tower over the video as the video also relates back to this this sets the mis en scene and the theme of the film. The video is also very fast past so this is just one of the shots that does this.

Michael jackson links with lyrics

Contrast from black and white

as the video is a rapping video and is fast we expect a fast up beat video to go with it that captures the song this shot is a very fast shot in black and white and continues with the flashing. In this part of the song they also talk about what is going on so talk about a car there is a car the same with eiffel tower and prince William and Michael jackson.

The performance style is good and works well there is not much lip synching but some does come but as it is so fast paste there is little long takes this shot is very fast and is flashing lights then moves to various other shots which is cut very fast paste. Although shots change the mis en scene remains the same as they go back to theme of paris being something we don't expect. The stars also come back in occasionally with some lip synching, as they are the niggas in paris, this is also the stereo type we would expect for this video.

This shot also helps set the mis en scene , as it relates to time going fast , and its already monday on the watch.The pace here slows down as it relates to the time, compared the other parts in video as there is a lot less going on.

This shot has been layered although there is lip synching it only appears for a max of 2 seconds which is fast but also changes to the rhythm of the music. The layering works well with the song as it talks about him being a bad guy and people wanting to be him which works very well with these shots as it makes him out to be this big i am. The stars are also shown in this and are the stars if the video.Here the visuals also relate to the lyrics.

Eiffel tower has a lot of power

This shot is of the eiffel tower and again represents power as they are underneath it. Affects have been put on this to make it have power and make it look so effective . This is also fast paste and is a shot that continues around as the camera spins around. This is the setting so it is very good that they relate back to the pictures of paris. It is also effective because you wouldnt stereo typically associate kanye west and jay z with paris.

mini vid Jolly roger by adam ant TBC

we have chosen to do my idea for the mini vid task this is the jolly roger by adam ant. We have chosen to do my idea because props and setting are easily accessible. It also will be fun and creative to do. We have chosen to do from 43 secs to 1.35 because this is good for lip synching and the different shot types.

we have got together costumes such as bandanna, pirate hat and white shirts and eye patches.We have also made things like a map , and have a rope and various other propps to create the mis en scene.

we have also designed a times table to plan shots , this then followed with a story board and lyrics to make sure shots fit with lyrics and match up to lip synching. This week we have planned what we are going to do including song and people available. We decided we are going to film on monday and continue with editing during the week so it is ready for friday we have also checked locations are easily available to film such as the school swimming pool and other things we need such as an empty class room.

People so far that will feature in this 50 second clip will be our group and extras such as for background and class room.

Pitch - Adam and the Ants Jolly Roger TBC

We have been asked to complete a mini vid task, this is to use create a music video which we would not usually pick because it is not our music taste. This way it broadens what we would listen to normally for other ideas for our course work video.
I got chose from the following tracks by adam and the ants :

• Cool zombie 
• jolly roger
• never trust a man
• Prince charming

In the end , after a lot of time and brainstorming of ideas i chose jolly roger as i had most ideas , and i thought it was most catchy.I couldn't find the original video of this so i have embedded the song.My idea is to have a similar thing to all his previous videos and tell a story like the songs do. My idea is to have a modern version of the video in pirate costumes acting out the song.I have also looked at Ant Muzak a short film reflecting there lives.
